This is a great barrel horse and I do trail ride with him. As with all my horses I use a gentle hand. Now with Sly you do have to let him know that you are the boss or he will try to intimidate you. But really at heart he is just a big ole baby. He follows me everywhere. I think he belives that he has a little saint bernard in him. It is not uncommom for him to lick me on the face and neck. I have had him for 5 years. We have had a blast togather. I love to barrel race almost as much as Sly. But my body is saying that my barrel racing days are over. And his is body is saying that he is ready to race for many years to come. Run baby run! It is not fair for me to put him to pasture just because I have to go. Barrel racing is Sly's heart and this is what he should be doing. If you want a go get er done... then this is the guy for you.. But only to a very good loving owner... And don't forget he needs his daily treat... (horse treats - not dog treats but if you get mixed up he won't mind.)
